If you are considering donating to a literacy program, there are actually several ways your business can do it. Most of the ideal ways to donate to literacy programs are through corporate donation opportunities. If you are unfamiliar with these, or if you are considering a donation to a specific literacy non-profit, there may be multiple opportunities. Here are a few of the opportunities you may want to consider.

Corporate Matching

One of the most common ways for your business to participate in donations to literacy programs is to do corporate matching. This is fairly easy to set up. What would happen, if you have not done this type of donation program, is your employees would make donations to the literacy program. For every amount that is donated, your corporation matches it. For example, if your employees donate $10,000 to the literacy program, then your business would donate $10,000 as well for a total of $20,000 in donations. You can run the donation time for any time frame you wish, or you may have a continuously running corporate donation program that donates the money raised monthly or quarterly.

Cause Marketing

Cause marketing can be ideal if you have a business with an online store presence. As people buy your items, a portion can be donated to the literacy program as a literacy cause. The money that is collected can be matched by corporate matching as well. There are several ways you can handle cause marketing. You can have donations per each sale, or you can have additional donations available if someone wants to donate more. The money can be sent directly to the literacy program on a routine basis.

Fundraising Opportunities

Another option for corporate donation opportunities is to hold a fundraiser event for the literacy program. You can have a full fundraising event that includes several fundraiser options. You can also choose other options as well that can be done through a silent auction, corporate dinner or corporate auction nights. The money raised can go directly to the literacy program at the end of the fundraiser. If the fundraiser goes well, you can opt to do it on a routine basis either seasonally or yearly depending on what works best for your business.

These are just a few of the corporate donation opportunities available to your business for donations to literacy programs. If you think any of these ideas would work for your corporation, begin the process to start a donation drive or participate in other opportunities. You can also contact the literacy program directly for specific opportunities.
